Burglars Break Into Glencoe Drug Store, Flee Before Police Arrive

Two masked offenders were seen on surveillance video breaking into Parkway Drugs Tuesday morning, police said.

GLENCOE, IL — Police said a group of people burglarized a drug store Tuesday in downtown Glencoe.

Shortly before 5:45 a.m., officers were dispatched to the Parkway Drugs, 353 Park Ave., for a report of a burglary in progress, according to public safety officials.

Police said witnesses reported hearing the sound of glass breaking and seeing people leave the store before fleeing in a getaway car.

Glencoe public safety officers arrived and made sure the burglars had left, according to a Tuesday afternoon statement from the Public Safety Department.

Surveillance video showed a pair of masked burglars broke through a glass entry door, police said.

One of the two suspects stole "various items" from the store before getting into an waiting black sedan and leaving.

Investigators were not sure about the make or model of the getaway car, or how many people may have been inside it.
