GLENCOE, IL — The Glencoe Caucus has introduced online voting for its nominating committees, which slate candidates for various local elected positions.

An online voting portal opened last week and will remain open until May 17. Every registered voter in the village can make their picks for the Village Nominating Committee or the School Board Nominating Committee.

Each of Glencoe's six precincts elects three members of the village committee and two members of the school board committee to four-year, staggered teams.

The village committee identifies candidates for the governing boards of the Village of Glencoe, the Glencoe Park District and the Glencoe Public Library, while the school committee slates candidates for Glencoe School District 35 and functions as the local elementary school district's representative on the New Trier High School District 203 Board of Education Caucus.

There are 11 seats on the village committee and 10 on the school board committee up for election in 2024, according to the caucus.

Established in 1936, the volunteer-driven Glencoe Caucus is also comprised of a six-member Advisory Council, which oversees the nominating committees.

The advisory council is elected at the caucus' biennial town meeting in December, where community members can engage with and endorse candidates selected by the nominating committees.

The following candidates are standing for election in their respective precincts through the Glencoe Caucus system, with online voting available through the end of next week.
