Crews Extinguish House Fire In Winnetka: Report

A homeowner escaped unharmed from a house fire in Winnetka early Monday morning.

WINNETKA, IL — Firefighters extinguished a house fire in Winnetka early Monday morning, according to reports.

According to CBS News, firefighters arrived at the scene in the 600 block of Walden Road around 4 a.m. and were met with smoke and flames. Crews worked to get water on the initial fire inside, while flames crawled up to the attic and other difficult to access places.

The homeowner told CBS that everyone was able to escape before firefighters arrived and nobody was injured. The fire was extinguished around 6 a.m.
