Cyclist Critically Injured In Collision With Delivery Van In Glencoe

A 64-year-old cyclist crashed into the rear of an Amazon delivery van Wednesday afternoon on Sheridan Road, authorities said.

GLENCOE, IL — A cyclist was hospitalized Wednesday after colliding with a delivery van in Glencoe, authorities said.

A 64-year-old Highland Park man was riding north on Sheridan Road around 4:15 p.m. when his bicycle reportedly struck an Amazon Dodge Ram ProMaster parked in the bike lane near the intersection with South Avenue.

The Glencoe Public Safety Department arrived and took the cyclist to Evanston Hospital in critical condition. The driver of the van remained on scene and has cooperated with authorities.

The major crash unit of the North Regional Major Crimes Task Force is investigating the incident.
