Do You Think New Trier Teachers Will Go on Strike?

The New Trier Faculty Association and Board of Education will meet for the fifth time with mediators on Thursday to try to come to an agreement on a teachers contract. 

"The Board and the Faculty Association are committed to working hard and in good faith to reach an agreement as soon as possible," a joint statement read at the last school board meeting stated. "Both the Board and faculty representatives have agreed to keep the content of our discussions confidential as we focus on reaching an agreement."

Neither side will release details of what the teachers are seeking, but last time contracts were renewed, the Board agreed to a 3.5% increase in salaries for the 2011-12 and 2012-13 school years.
