Glencoe residents can now join a program to provide first responders information that could save lives, according to a press release.
The Yellow Dot Program is a new and free program available throughout the State of Illinois, which assists emergency personnel in case of a serious motor vehicle accident.
Access to driver identity and medical information can be vital for first responders in order to make important decisions regarding emergency treatment and to better prepare emergency room staff.

Residents can obtain the Yellow Dot Packet at the Glencoe Public Safety Department, 675 Village Ct., 24 hours a day.
The Yellow Dot packets consist of the following:

- Bright Yellow Decal for Your Car
- Yellow Dot Medical Card
- Yellow Dot Tri-Fold Brochure
The decal is placed on the lower driver’s side on the rear window of the vehicle. The yellow dot signifies there is a folder in the glove compartment, which contains important information about the motorists to including:
- Name
- Photo
- Emergency Contact Information
- Physician Information
- Medical Conditions
- Recent Surgeries
- Allergies
- A List of Current Medications
