Glencoe Public Safety Officer Accepting Applications
Glencoe is looking for public safety officers, who are trained police officers, firefighters and EMTs. Here's how to apply.

GLENCOE, IL — You can be a police officer, firefighter and emergency medical technician all in one by becoming a public safety officer, and the Village of Glencoe is looking for a few good people.
They're accepting applications until 4 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2019. Applications cost $45, but financial hardship waivers are available.
For an additional fee, you can purchase a study guide for the test.

From the Village of Glencoe:
- To be eligible to apply, you need to have a valid POWER Test Card, issued by NIPSTA, Triton College or Joliet Junior College within six months prior to the application date. CPAT cards are not accepted.
- A mandatory written exam will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 9 a.m. for applicants who meet all eligibility requirements. View the full notice of exam here.
- Later, top candidates from the written exam will be invited to participate in an assessment center and their first interview with the Public Safety Commission, likely in the spring.
- Candidates then also undergo a background check and polygraph (lie detector) test.
- Top candidates are then invited back for a final interview with the Public Safety Commission.
