Glencoe Water Main Work: Water Shutoffs, Traffic Possible​

The project will continue from mid-September through early October.

GLENCOE, IL — Residents in Glencoe could experience water shutoffs and traffic as a water main improvement project is completed between mid-September and early October.

The city said the project includes installing new water mains, valves and fire hydrants at specific locations.

During the project, some residents could be asked to move vehicles to side streets during work hours. Driveways blocked during construction will be reopened at the end of the workday, the city said.

Work will be completed as follows:

  • Week of Sept. 14: Forestway Drive between Chestnut and Strawberry Hill
  • Week of Sept. 28: Westley Road near Glencoe Golf Club entrance
  • Week of Oct. 5: Hawthorn Avenue east of Sheridan Road; Longwood Avenue south of Hawthorn Avenue
