NEW TRIER TOWNSHIP, IL — The following information comes from the Glencoe, Kenilworth, Northfield, Wilmette and Winnetka police departments and court records as a record of police activity and incidents reported to the police. Criminal charges merely represent accusations by the state, and county prosecutors often choose to drop or reduce them. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Anyone arrested is innocent unless later proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
GLENCOE
INCIDENTS
Someone stole an bicycle valued at $400 that was left unlocked in the 600 block of Greenwood Avenue prior to 3 p.m. on June 5.
IDENTITY THEFT
A Vernon Avenue resident reported on June 7 that someone had used their identity to try to open up a credit card.

ARRESTS
A 43-year-old Springfield woman was arrested around 11 a.m. on June 1 in the 300 block of Park Avenue and charged with felony stalking after making unwanted contact with a sorority sister and Glencoe resident who reported that she was concerned for her safety. The woman, who was ordered to remain jailed until she can post the $25,000 cash portion of her bail, said the note that she left was very polite. In January 2024, she pleaded guilty to misdemeanor reckless conduct that endangered the safety of the Glencoe resident.
NORTHFIELD
INCIDENTS
Someone shattered a rear window of a car parked in the 200 block of Dickens Street at some point between May 26 and the evening of May 30, police were told.

IDENTITY THEFT
A Robin Hood Lane resident reported having been contacted by a scammer who had acquired some generic public information about them. Officers documented the incident and verified that none of the residents accounts or personally identifying information had been compromised.
FRAUD
A resident came to the station on the afternoon of June 2 to reported that someone had made an unauthorized credit card transaction for $100, possibly in the 300 block of Central Avenue.
UNEMPLOYMENT FRAUD
A Harding Road resident reported on June 3 that their employer had notified them that someone had filed a fraudulent claim for unemployment insurance benefits under their name. The report was forwarded to state unemployment and law enforcement officials.

WINNETKA
INCIDENTS
SHOPLIFTING
An employee at the Walgreens, 925 Green Bay Road, reported that someone had stolen about $102 worth of various clothing and household items from the store around 3 p.m. on May 30. All the stolen merchandise was later found near the intersection of Green Bay Road and Gage Street.
CAR BURGLARY
Someone got into an unlocked car parked in the 700 block of Willow Road between 7 p.m. on May 31 and 8 a.m. on June 1 and stole a wallet from inside. Nothing was reported stolen from two other cars through which a burglar also rummaged. Credit cards from inside the wallet were later used for multiple unauthorized purchases for a loss of $162.
IDENTITY THEFT
A Willow Road resident reported on June 3 that someone had used their identity to open up a Verizon Wireless account at some point after May 22 and racked up nearly $1,580 in bills on it.
ARRESTS/CITATIONS
Vicente A. Martinez-Jimenez, 46, of the 4900 block of Mulford Street, Skokie, was arrested around 11:30 p.m. on May 31 and charged with felony aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol — third or subsequent arrest, misdemeanor driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a revoked license following a traffic stop in the 500 block of Hibbard Road. Officers also issued him citations for improper lane usage, failure to signal when required and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

IDENTITY THEFT
A Ridge Road resident reported on May 31 that they contacted someone who had sent them an email about a $870 purchase and then scammed them out of personal information and access to their computer. There was no monetary loss at the time of the report
ARRESTS
Jose D. Aguirre Hurtado, 39, of the 1900 block of Murcer Lane, Elgin, was arrested on the morning of June 3 and charged with misdemeanor public indecency after officers were called to the area of Green Bay Road and Kenilworth Avenue for a report that someone had exposed his genitalia to a group of girls. Police found Hurtado, who matched the description and vehicle the girls described, was found Wilmette and taken into custody in the 1300 block of Chestnut Avenue.
WILMETTE
INCIDENTS
STOLEN CAR
Someone stole a Honda SUV after it was left unlocked with a key fob inside in the 800 block of Chilton Lane between 3 and 3:20 a.m. on May 31. Chicago police contacted their Wilmette counterparts around 9 p.m. on June 1 to notify them that the stolen car was found in the 500 block of West Madison Street in Chicago.
HARASSMENT
A Dartmouth Road resident reported on June 2 that an acquaintance had placed a threatening phone call to them.
SHOPLIFTING
Around 11:45 a.m. on June 2, a female shoplifters stole about $600 worth of merchandise from the Walgreens, 3232 Lake Ave. She was last seen leaving the area in a dark gray or black SUV.
BIKE THEFTS
- Someone stole a possibly unlocked girls' turquoise and purple Nishiki mountain bike from Harper School, 1101 Dartmouth Street between May 27 and May 31.
- Someone stole two bicycles — a green Liv Flourish 4 and an older black and white women's Trek — from the Elmwood Dunes after they were left unattended prior to 4:30 p.m. on June 2.
BURGLARIES
- Someone forced their way into a building at 1140 Wilmette Ave. and stole an unspecified amount of electronics from inside on or before May 29.
- A burglar broke into Trinity United Methodist Church, 1024 Lake Ave., between May 29 and May 31, although nothing was reported stolen at the time of the report.
CAR BURGLARIES
- Someone burglarized an unlocked Toyota parked in the 1000 block of Elmwood Avenue between May 29 and May 30, taking items from inside the glove box and center console and leaving them on the passenger seat.
- Someone stole two rings worth $7,300 after they were left inside an unlocked car parked in the lot of the Wilmette Golf Course, 3900 Fairway Drive, prior to 5:30 p.m. on June 2. Around 4:15 p.m. that day, police were notified that a young man or boy had been spotted inside someone else's car and that three had fled after being spotted.
ARRESTS/CITATIONS
A 14-year-old Park City boy was arrested after an officer watched him crash a stolen car in front of Regina High School and flee the scene around 3:15 a.m. on May 31. Police learned the 2015 Chrysler he was driving had been stolen from Glenview are some point in the prior six hours. The boy was petitioned delinquent in juvenile court on one count of possession of a stolen motor vehicle and turned over to his mother's custody.
