Village Employee Charged With Enticing Child For Indecent Purposes
A Georgia detective posing as a young girl allegedly engaged in indecent conversations with a Glencoe's public works staffer.

GLENCOE, IL — A village employee has been placed on administrative leave while he awaits extradition to the state of Georgia to face accusations of indecent online contact with someone claiming to be a child.
Gregory Dittburner, 34, of Gurnee, was arrested Friday after the Roswell Police Department obtained a nationwide warrant for his arrest in connection with a May 2023 conversation with an undercover detective, authorities said.
Dittburner has worked as a maintenance equipment operator in Glencoe's public works department since 2021, handling upkeep of various piece of village infrastructure and systems, according to the Glencoe Public Safety Department.

Deputy Chief Andrew Perley said in a statement there were no claims of any wrongdoing in Illinois in connection with the warrant, but Dittburner was placed on leave until village officials can conduct further investigation.
Dittburner appeared in court Saturday and was ordered to remain at the Cook County Jail pending extradition to Georgia.

In Lake County, Dittburner was charged with three counts of domestic battery in February 2023 and pleaded guilty in July 2023 in exchange for probation. Prosecutors on Tuesday filed a petition to revoke his probation, records show.
