Winnetka Blotter: Cash Missing From New Trier, Identity Theft Arrest
A summary of incidents that occurred Nov. 22-27.

The following items are taken from Winnetka Police Department reports. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Saturday, Nov. 27
Traffic Arrest: A 33-year-old Chicago man was arrested on charges of driving without a valid driver's license, driving without insurance and improper lane usage in the 500 block of Green Bay Road around 5 p.m. His court date is Jan. 5.

Criminal Trespass: Two 16-year-old boys from the New Trier Township area and a 17-year-old boy from Mount Prospect were arrested on charges of criminal trespass at New Trier Township High School at 10:29 p.m. The case was assigned to peer jury.

Friday, Nov. 26
Identity Theft: A 44-year-old Lake Forest man was arrested on charges of identity theft in the 100 block of Onwentsia in Lake Forest at 3:02 p.m. The man was arrested in connection to an incident in which a Winnetka resident reported unlawful use of a credit card, according to Deputy Chief Patrick Kreis.
"The investigation led to a warrant for [the man's] arrest, and our detectives arrested him in Lake Forest," Kreis said. Kreis also said there was "potential" for further charges.
Wednesday, Nov. 24
Possession of Cannabis: A 20-year-old Chicago man was arrested on charges of possession of cannabis at 2:14 a.m. in the 900 block of Scott Ave. His court date is Dec. 27.
Criminal Damage: A caller reported an 18-inch scratch on her vehicle which was parked at New Trier Township High School at 10:53 a.m.
Theft: A staff member at New Trier Township High School reported that $190 was taken from an unsecured desk drawer between Nov. 18-22.
Possession of Cannabis: A 17-year-old Skokie boy was arrested on charges of possession of cannabis after he was stopped in his car by police. He was also cited for speeding and for violating nighttime restrictions on his driver's license. His court date is Dec. 17.
Nov. 22
Theft: A staff member at New Trier Township High School reported $232 missing from an unsecured desk drawer. The theft occurred between Nov. 15-19, according to reports.
