• Jack Franks' Marengo firm part of multimillion-dollar PCB settlement against Monsanto (shawlocal.com) — Winthrop Harbor is one of several Lake Michigan towns sharing in a $120 million settlement with Monsanto over PCB contamination in stormwater runoff, helping cover costly cleanup work. The case, led in part by a Marengo law firm with statewide partners, brought more money than a national class action would have, and additional funds are also headed to Illinois and Chicago.
