2 Arrested, Dozens Ticketed During Woodridge Labor Day Crackdown

WOODRIDGE, IL — Two people were arrested and dozens were ticketed during Woodridge's recent Labor Day traffic safety campaign.

Police say one person was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, and another person was arrested for driving with a suspended license. The following tickets were issued:

  • 20 speeding tickets
  • 9 seatbelt tickets
  • 10 tickets for miscellaneous violations

“Through the Labor Day safety campaign, we helped to make our roads safer and spread the
word about the risks of impaired driving – ‘It’s Not a Game,’” Police Chief Tom Stefanson said in a statement.

Woodridge's safety campaign was part of a statewide initiative made possible with funds from the Illinois Department of Transportation.
