Public Hearing Planned For Proposed 75th Street Corridor TIF District In Woodridge
A public hearing is planned for January as Woodridge continues to explore a proposed TIF District along 75th Street.

WOODRIDGE, IL — A public hearing is planned for Jan. 15 to discuss a proposed tax increment financing (TIF) district for the 75th Street Corridor in Woodridge.
The proposed TIF district would span 75th Street between Janes Avenue and Lemont Road as "part of a proactive strategy to enhance commercial vitality," according to the village's info page. Woodridge also hopes to address aging infrastructure and properties that are underused.
Ahead of the planned public hearing, the village conducted a community survey in 2024 and held a study session in May 2025, along with a public meeting in July 2025.

Per the survey, community members listed restaurants, larger retail stores, grocery stores and entertainment venues amid the top developments they'd like to see im Woodridge.

75th and Janes Street was cited for its safety and site conditions, parking lots and outlot development. The intersection was earmarked as an opportunity for traffic and pedestrian improvement and as a versatile redevelopment, village documents show.
Centerpointe Plaza and 75th Street and Woodward were also identified as points of focus, with concerns that included vacant retail spaces, parking issues and limited visibility. Village documents show the area's preferred use as a mixed-space deelpment with the opportunity for recreation and big box retail stores.
The Zigfield Troy Golf Course and Woodgrove Festival and 75th Street and Lemont Road were also listed as potential redevelopment sites.
A vote is tentatively scheduled for early February.
The public hearing will be held Jan. 15 at 7 p.m. at Woodridge Village Hall, 5 Plaza Dr., Woodridge.
