51 Tickets Issued To Drivers In Woodridge In Thanksgiving Crackdown

Drivers were issued dozens of tickets during a holiday safety campaign in Woodridge.

WOODRIDGE, IL — Woodridge police doled out 51 tickets during their recent safety initiative, which spanned the Thanksgiving holiday. Of these, 29 were speeding tickets.

The citations were issued as follows:

  • 29 speeding tickets
  • 12 seatbelt tickets
  • 5 tickets for miscellaneous violations
  • 3 tickets for driving without insurance
  • 1 ticket for driving with a revoked or suspended license
  • 1 ticket for a carseat violation

“We issue tickets to remind drivers and passengers that seat belt use isn’t a suggestion, it’s the
law,” Woodridge Police Deputy Chief Tom Stefanson said in a statement.

He added, “This year’s campaign was successful in grabbing people’s attention with highly visible enforcement methods. As always, our goal is a safe community with safe drivers.

The safety campaign was part of a statewide initiative that spanned Nov. 17 through. Nov. 27.
