Child Rescued From House Fire In Woodridge

A child was taken to a nearby hospital after a fire broke out in the 3300 block of 83rd Street Tuesday morning.

WOODRIDGE, IL — A child was rescued from a house fire in Woodridge and taken to a nearby hospital Tuesday morning, according to the Lisle-Woodridge Fire District.

The fire broke out around 8:30 a.m. in the 3300 block of 83rd Street. Callers had reported smoke coming from the building and that people were still inside the home.

Firefighters entered the home to search for occupants and found a child in a second-floor bedroom. The child's condition was not made public as of Tuesday afternoon.

No one else was still inside the home, according to fire officials.

The blaze was contained within 10 minutes, per a news release, and firefighters stayed at the scene until 10:30 a.m. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
