Cops To Crack Down On Drivers For Memorial Day In Woodridge

Woodridge police plan to increase patrols starting May 19 for its Memorial Day safety initiative.

WOODRIDGE, IL — Woodridge police are set to increase patrols May 19 for its Memorial Day safety campaign. The initiative is part of the statewide "Click It or Ticket" campaign.

"Seat belts have proven to be life-saving in the event of a crash,” Deputy Chief Tom
Stefanson said in a statement. “Unfortunately, many still don’t buckle up. Worse yet, not wearing a seat belt is a habit that can be passed on to younger generations who follow the example set
by their elders."

The increased patrols will be in effect through May 30.
