Cops To Increase Patrols To Combat Distracted Driving In Woodridge
Police in Woodridge will increase patrols as part of Distracted Driving Awareness Month.
WOODRIDGE, IL — Woodridge police are set to crack down on distracted driving during a safety initiative that will span the month of April. The campaign is part of Distracted Driving Awareness month, when drivers are also expected to run into traffic safety enforcement zones in the city as well.
“Distracted driving is one of the leading causes of motor vehicle crashes on our roads today,”
Woodridge Deputy Chief Tom Stefanson said in a news release.
Stefanson added, "During Distracted Driving Awareness Month, law enforcement will boost enforcement efforts, stopping anyone who is texting and driving. Remember, if you have a phone in one hand, you can expect a ticket in the other."
