Elderly Man Critically Hurt In House Fire In Woodridge

Fire officials say the man was in critical condition at Loyola Hospital following a blaze that broke out Wednesday night.

WOODRIDGE, IL — An elderly man was critically injured in a fire that started in a Woodridge home Wednesday night.

Fire crews were called to a home in the 6400 block of Winston Drive just before 7 p.m. for a report of a fire with someone trapped inside the house. At the scene, firefighters found smoke coming from the front and back of the single-family home.

They entered the house and found the man near the front door. He was taken out of the house and rushed to Good Samaritan Hospital before being transferred to Loyola Hospital. Fire officials say they have received no additional updates about the man, who was last reported to be in critical condition.
