Jewelry Stolen From Home During Ruse Burglary In Woodridge
Police say the suspect told a resident they were from the village's water department to enter the home and set up the burglary.
WOODRIDGE, IL — A Woodridge home was burglarized Saturday after a person approached the resident under the guise of being an employee with the village's water department.
Police were called to a home near Harcourt Avenue and Woodward Drive around 2:30 p.m. for a report of a ruse burglary. The victim told police several pieces of jewelry were stolen after another person or additional people entered the home while the first suspect distracted the resident.
According to the police, the burglars left after the resident started to seem suspicious.

Woodridge police say the vehicle used during the burglary, which is pictured below, had been reported stolen.
