WOODRIDGE, IL — The McDonald's at Woodgrove Festival Shopping Center in Woodridge hosted its grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony on Sept. 27.

The 3,958 square foot restaurant features a dual-lane drive-thru. A recent marketing news release said the Woodridge location is "one of the first in the region to showcase the latest guest experience upgrades."

The development was met with resistance from some neighboring residents when it was first proposed. At a village meeting in May 2024, residents raised concerns about traffic and stormwater runoff.

One resident who lives on nearby Golf View Drive, said at the meeting, "The residents have consistently opposed this project and vehemently object to the staff's incorrect statement the proposed use will not adversely affect owners."

Village council members approved the McDonald's project with a vote of 4-1, with trustee Kay Page casting the sole vote in opposition.
