Sign Up For Woodridge Police Department GRIT Scavenger Hunt

WOODRIDGE, IL — The Woodridge Police Department encourages residents with kids in grades K-8 to sign up for the GRIT Scavenger Hunt. The contest kicks off Wednesday and runs through Aug. 15, and involves perseverance and determination, as both are attributes of people who have grit, according to police. The GRIT Scavenger Hunt includes prizes for all participants who successfully complete the scavenger hunt, and the first 20 families to finish will receive gift cards to Woodridge restaurants, according to police.

Police ask residents to "Please follow all public health guidelines (i.e., physical distancing) while participating in the scavenger hunt." Here are the rules:

• Participants will use clues to find 10 locations around Woodridge, the first clue is provided in the second video.
• Each location will have a document taped inside the main building entrance with a QR code.
• Participants must scan the QR code on their phones to receive the clue that will lead them to the next location.
• Participants must take a photo at each location, and submit it to the Woodridge Police to prove they visited each site. Use this form to submit the photos.
• Participants need not enter the location, and can simply scan the QR code and take a selfie.
