Summer Reading Programs End with Excitement at the Woodridge Public Library

Over 1200 children and 300 hundred adults and teens took part in summer reading clubs.

WOODRIDGE, IL — Summer reading programs wrapped up July 30 with a successful Pokémon GO event that brought over 500 people to the library on Saturday afternoon, including nearly 350 active Pokémon players, their families and friends.

Highlights of the event included teams battling for control of the library's Pokémon Gym, cooling off with snacks while recharging phones and tablets in the library lobby, and spending time with family talking about and playing Pokémon GO.

On July 28 the Imagination and Reader's Theater EXTRAVAGANZA! marked the grand finale of the library's summer drama program. Twenty-five actors and actresses i-training took part in the humorous production after six weeks of preparation and practice.
