Teens Used BB Gun To Rob Man At Castaldo Park In Woodridge: Cops
A teen from Woodridge and a teen from Oswego have been charged in connection with the armed robbery.
WOODRIDGE, IL — Two teenagers were arrested after a person was robbed at gunpoint at Castaldo Park in Woodridge.
Jordan Jones, 18, of the 300 block of Wolverine Drive in Woodridge, and a 16-year-old from Oswego were both charged with armed robbery in connection with Sunday's incident. Jones was also charged with fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer. The other teen was additionally charged with aggravated robbery.
Police say Jones and the teen used Snapchat to set up a meeting to buy Apple AirPods and two sweatshirts from the man for $495. The man met with Jones and the juvenile around 5:15 p.m. According to police, Jones and the teen shoved a BB gun into the man's rib cage and stole the items.

Jones and the teen are accused of fleeing in a car. Officers later tried to stop the car after they saw it run a stop sign, a news release said. Jones is accused of speeding away.
Around 8:30 p.m., police got a report that the car was found on a tow truck. At that time, Jones was taken into custody. Police reported finding three BB guns in the car. The teen turned himself in on Monday, police say.

“The allegations that these two defendants robbed an innocent man at gunpoint in a public park are outrageous,” DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said. “This type of criminal behavior is not acceptable in DuPage County and will be met with the full force of the law."
Jones is set to appear in court on Dec. 16. The juvenile is set to appear in court Dec. 5.
