Thief Breaks Into Fueling Station to Pump Gas, Christmas Decorations Destroyed: Woodridge Police

The following items were pulled from the Woodridge police blotter throughout the past week.

Theft

  • Around 1:43 a.m. Dec. 24, someone broke into a locked fueling station on Joliet Road, drove his truck onto the property and pumped fuel into his truck. The suspect hasn’t been located.

Burglary

  • Emmanuel Harper, 18, was charged with burglary to a motor vehicle when police caught him in the area of Woodridge Drive and Laurel Court around 3:23 a.m. Dec. 23. Cops were responding to a call of a suspicious person in the area.
  • An unknown suspect broke into a shipping container in the 10000 block of Werch Drive between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. Dec. 27 and stole a total of $4,300 worth of goods. A power brush, a snow blower and 15 bags of sidewalk salt were among the items stolen.
  • A residential burglary took place Dec. 29 in the 8000 block of Janes Avenue. A burglar broke into the Woodridge resident’s home through a window and stole cash.

Retail theft

  • Tamara Wallace, 40, was caught trying to steal several items from the Kohl’s at 1001 W. 75th St. the afternoon of Dec. 23. Wallace, from Naperville, was charged after she tried to sneak unpaid-for items out of the store.
  • An unknown suspect stole $160 worth of liquor from Sam’s Liquors on 75th Street the evening of Dec. 24. The thief took two bottles and ran out of the store without paying.

  • A Woodridge resident living in the 8200 block of Westview Lane reported to police Dec. 23 that someone had damaged their Christmas decorations, which were arranged in their front yard. The estimated value of loss is $200.
