Village Sets New Requirements for Woodridge Landlords
Woodridge landlords of three or more multi-family rental units are now required to apply for an annual license. Deadline to do so is September 27.
For the past 19 years, the Village of Woodridge has implemented a residential licensing program which requires annual registration for approximately 4,300 rental units in the community and annual inspections for approximately 900 rental units.
In response to the increase in residential rental units and foreclosures in Woodridge, the recently approved an expansion of the program—which will include a requirement that all landlords within Woodridge attend a crime free housing seminar.
“Maintaining the quality of Woodridge’s rental housing has been, and continues to be an important priority of the Village,” said Mayor William Murphy. “Through these expanded efforts, we help to protect property owner investment and preserve the quality of housing in the community.”
