Week Ahead: WJWC School Supplies Collection Drive

Here’s some of what’s going on in and around Woodridge for the week of Aug. 12-16:

·      Monday, Aug. 12: “The Woodridge Junior Woman's Club is collecting school supplies for children attending Woodridge schools. Donations can be dropped off through Monday, August 12 at the following locations: Woodridge Library, Jewel Foods at 75th and Janes Ave, Walgreens Drugs at 75th and Janes, Walgreens Drugs at 63rd Street and Belmont. Look for the bins in which to place your donations! The WJWC thanks you for your support!”

·      Tuesday, Aug. 13: The Lisle Area Chamber of Commerce and the West Suburban Community Pantry are hosting their Drive to End Hunger golf outing fundraiser at Seven Bridges Golf Club in Woodridge. Registration with continental breakfast is at 7:00 AM. Modified Shotgun Start is at 8:00 AM.

·      Wednesday, Aug. 14: Also at Seven Bridges (1 Mulligan Drive, Woodridge) at 11:30 a.m., the Woodridge Area Chamber of Commerce are hosting a Multi-Champer SpeedNetworking Luncheon. “This luncheon is not your average Chamber networking opportunity! We're combining members from the Woodridge, Downers Grove, Lombard and Westmont Chambers to this progressive luncheon. Register and reap the benefits of meeting potential clients outside of your usual Membership circle.”

·      Thursday, Aug. 15: The Woodridge Jaycees Illinois Junior Chamber are holding their General Membership Meeting on Thursday starting at 6:30 p.m. at Shanahan’s Food and Spirits (1999 W 75th St, Woodridge) “The Woodridge Jaycees provide young people (18-40) the opportunity to create positive change in our community and in the world. The Woodridge Jaycees are a great way to meet people, expand your professional network, develop new skills and contribute to society.”

·      Friday, Aug. 16: It’s the last day of the summer for ordinary summer hours (11:30 a.m.-8:00 p.m.) at Cypress Cove Family Aquatic Park (8301 S. Janes Ave. Woodridge.) After Friday, shortened hours through Monday, Sept. 2 mark the postseason. If you have a full day at the Park planned, today is your last chance!
