Woodridge Public Library Reopening: Date, Safety Precautions

The reopening safety precautions and other details visitors should know before visiting the Woodridge Public Library.

WOODRIDGE, IL — The Woodridge Public Library building at 3 Plaza Drive in Woodridge reopens on July 6 with safety measures for the coronavirus in place, the library announced in a news release. Safety measures include anyone entering the building must wear a face covering and follow social distancing guidelines, according to the news release. The library will reopen with normal hours.

Due to government mandates regarding space capacity, extended visits won't be possible, according to the library, adding that during peak times, visitors may be asked to return later. Library staff will make efforts to update the building capacity status throughout the day on the website.

According to the news release, chairs and seating areas have been removed, in addition to limited computer availability (one hour per day time limit), along with fax/scan/copy, and printer access. The library said that visitors should note they have fewer stations and time limits in place due to building capacity and social distancing restrictions.

However, visitors are welcome to walk through the building to find and checkout books, DVDs, other materials, and use available library resources, according to the news release. Library staff will be available to help, and will continue to offer the library's curbside pickup service as a safe "contactless" option for patrons who wish to get library materials without entering the library.
