Woodridge Woman May Have Unintentionally Interrupted Car Burglary
Police said the woman was at her car in a Woodridge subdivision and saw a dark-painted SUV and went up to it, before this happened.
WOODRIDGE, IL — A Woodridge woman was unloading items from her car Monday in the Arbor Ridge Subdivision, just before she unintentionally may have interrupted a car burglary happening in the middle of her street, according to a news release from the Woodridge Police Department. Police said the woman was at her car in the southern Woodridge subdivision when she noticed a dark-painted SUV parked in street and went up to it, thinking the people inside were family members. However, that's when people inside the SUV shot a gun several times towards her home, and then drove away, according to the news release.
Based on early investigation, police said detectives believe the homeowner may have inadvertently interrupted a car burglary, and added that the department is looking for more information related to this investigation. Police ask anyone who may have noticed suspicious behavior or captured relevant information on security cameras related to this incident to contact the Woodridge Police Department.
