Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Field Off Galena

No one was reported injured.

Update, 8:40 p.m.

Yorkville police responded to a report of a plane that was lying upside down in a field west of 1687 Cannonball Trail.

The plane had two passengers and had taken off from Romeoville and was headed towards Aurora, when the pilot realized he did not have enough fuel and made an emergency landing.

Neither the pilot nor passenger were reported injured.

5:55 p.m.

A plane made an emergency landing in a field off of Galena Road and Cannonball Trail Tuesday evening around 5:45 p.m.

Yorkville Deputy Police Chief Larry Hilt said the plane ran out of fuel and had to make an emergency landing. "They put down in the field out there."

Hilt said there were two people aboard the plane and no injuries were reported.
