Tennis Courts Being Dedicated to Yorkville 9/11 Victim

Jeffrey Collman loved to play and watch tennis.

12 years ago today, Jeffrey Collman, 41, switched shifts with a fellow flight attendant and boarded the first plane that crashed into the World Trade Center's north tower.

Collman, 1977 graduate of Yorkville High School, loved tennis, traveling and being a flight attendant, his father Dwayne Collman told Patch earlier.

He wasn’t supposed to be on that flight from Boston that day, but took the assignment so he could get a few extra days off to watch tennis at Wimbledon.

To honor Jeffrey Collman, the city of Yorkville is dedicating the tennis courts - now to be called Collman Court - at Raintree Park B for his love of tennis.

A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at 5 p.m. tonight at the tennis courts, 872 Prairie Crossing Drive.
