Yorkville Man Arrested In Prostitution Sting
A 24-year-old Yorkville man was among those arrested for soliciting prostitutes in Romeoville.
Romeoville, IL — Eight individuals, including a Yorkville man, are among those accused of soliciting a prostitute in the latest sting operation in Romeoville. On Thursday, police said the sting was conducted Feb. 4 to 8 at the Extended Stay Hotel, 1225 Lakeview Drive in Romeoville.
"The sting was conducted in cooperation with the management of the Extended Stay Hotel and was not in response to complaints of prostitution occurring at the hotel," police said in a statement Thursday. "Online solicitation of prostitution is a concern throughout the area and is not isolated to any one community or any one hotel chain. As prostitution is not a victimless crime, the Romeoville Police Department conducted the sting as a deterrence to prostitution and the solicitation of prostitution. The Extended Stay Hotel volunteered the use of their hotel in the interest of assisting the Romeoville Police Department accomplish this goal."
All individuals were charged with soliciting a prostitute and released on $120 recognizance bond.
