31 Decomposing Bodies Found At Indiana Funeral Home: Reports
Authorities are working to identify the remains, some of which are in "advanced stages of decomposition," according to the Courier-Journal.

JEFFERSONVILLE, IN — Authorities are investigating the bizarre case of dozens of bodies found in various states of decomposition at an Indiana funeral home, according to reports.
Police were called Friday night to Lankford Funeral Home and Family Center in Jeffersonville, according to the Courier-Journal, where they discovered 31 decomposing bodies — some in “advanced stages of decomposition” — and 16 cremated remains.
Authorities are working to identify the remains and are not yet able to determine what charges, if any, will be brought, the Courier-Journal reported.

Two parents filed a lawsuit Tuesday against the funeral home, claiming the business mishandled and lied about the status of their 34-year-old daughter’s remains, according to the News and Tribune. The parents were told the remains were cremated but never received them, the News and Tribune reported.
People who entrusted the funeral home to care for the remains of a deceased loved one are asked to contact the Clark County Coroner’s Office at 812-285-6282, according to the Courier-Journal, which reported tips can be left with police at 812-285-6535.
