• Man charged in murder of Elwood Ofc. Noah Shahnavaz found not competent to stand trial (wishtv.com) — A Madison County judge in Anderson has again ruled that the man accused of killing Elwood police officer Noah Shahnavaz is not currently competent to stand trial and ordered him to the state mental health system for restoration treatment. Prosecutors still plan to seek the death penalty, and say they’ll be ready to proceed if doctors later find him competent. 
• Armed man accused of stealing gold necklace during Facebook Marketplace sale at Starbucks in Noblesville (fox59.com) — An Anderson man is facing felony charges after police say he used a gun during a Facebook Marketplace meetup to steal a gold necklace at a Starbucks in Noblesville. Officers later stopped his car, which had been linked to other Madison County crimes, and reported finding both a handgun and the necklace. He remains jailed on a substantial cash bond with a 2026 jury trial set.
