• South Dearborn Business Students Qualify for State Leadership Conference (eaglecountryonline.com) — Students from South Dearborn High School in Aurora have earned spots at the statewide Business Professionals of America Leadership Conference after a strong showing at the District 12 regional competition. Eight students collected 10 awards across business, finance, and health-related events and will head to Indianapolis in March 2026 to compete against peers from across Indiana.

• First responders honored for rescuing man from house fire in Aurora (wlwt.com) — First responders in Aurora were honored this week for rescuing a 77-year-old man from a burning home, a dramatic August incident captured on body camera. The man, Arnold Lathrop, reunited with the Aurora officer and two EMTs who pulled him from thick smoke and received the State Fire Marshal’s Medal of Valor. His house remains unlivable, but he credits their quick action with saving his life.
   

• 1 woman dead after deer crashes through windshield (whio.com) — An Aurora woman was killed Sunday night when a deer, struck by another vehicle, flew through the windshield of her southbound pickup on State Road 1 in Blooming Grove. The 38-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene, and Franklin County authorities continue to investigate the tragic crash.
