Hamilton County Travel Advisory: Stay Home If Possible
Please stay home if you're able, as the Indiana State Police has reported nearly 80 crashes or slide-offs as of Saturday morning.

HAMILTON COUNTY, IN — The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office said a yellow level Travel Advisory has been issued Saturday morning until "further notice" for unincorporated roads in Hamilton County. Although this is the lowest level of local travel advisories, the sheriff's office said individuals should use caution or avoid these areas, as it means that routine travel or activities may be restricted in areas because of a hazardous situation.
According to the sheriff's office, unincorporated roads are those roads maintained by Hamilton County, usually roads outside cities and towns.
The National Weather Service is forecasting several inches of snow for Central Indiana and has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Hamilton County effective through Sunday morning.

Please be careful, as the Indiana State Police reported as of Saturday morning there have been nearly 80 crashes or slide offs on our roads (see tweet below). It's better to stay home and play in the snow, then be out on the roads.
As a reminder with winter driving, the sheriff's office said to:
- Reduce speeds
- Leave extra room between vehicles
- Make sure all windows are clear of snow and ice
- Turn on lights to increase visibility even during the day, and make sure to keep an emergency kit along with a fully charged cell phone handy.
Just like drivers, calls for crashes are not slowing down. Troopers are currently on scene of 22 crashes with at least 6 more pending. Not including the 49 crashes or slide offs we have already cleared since 4am. Please stay home if possible. pic.twitter.com/p2YDvPruUO
