SCORE Indianapolis Wins Chapter of the Year Award
The local chapter of the national nonprofit provides no-cost mentoring to business owners in nine counties in Indiana.
After helping to start 516 new businesses, SCORE Indianapolis has been named Chapter of the Year for the Indiana/Kentucky district.
The 2025 SCORE Chapter of the Year recognition is based upon SCORE Indianapolis’ achievements in fiscal year 2024, which began Oct. 1, 2023 and concluded on Sept. 30, 2024.
SCORE Indianapolis, which provides no-cost mentoring to entrepreneurs in Boone, Hamilton, Madison, Hendricks, Marion, Hancock, Morgan, Johnson and Shelby counties, received the coveted Chapter of the Year honor in 2024 as well.

For fiscal year 2024, SCORE Indianapolis’ 69 volunteer mentors conducted more than 2,500 total mentoring sessions and helped to create 1,645 total jobs.
In all, mentors worked with more than 1,100 entrepreneurs and small business owners. SCORE Indianapolis mentors conducted 20 local in-person workshops, which were attended by nearly 400 area business owners.

According to the annual Price Waterhouse Coopers survey, small business clients who receive three or more hours of mentoring report higher revenues and increased business growth.
“I am honored to receive this prestigious award on behalf of SCORE Indianapolis,” Chapter Chair Thomas Morgan said. “This would not have been possible without our mentors’ steadfast dedication to SCORE’s mission to help small businesses start, grow and prosper.”
