Officials recommend small, insulated outdoor shelters plus unfrozen food and water, and note even non–pet owners can save lives by checking on outdoor cats and reporting animals in distress.

I AM ALLEN: Allen County bicentennial sculpture dedicated after it was damaged in March (21alivenews.com) — A damaged “I Am Allen” bicentennial sculpture has now been rededicated at its new home near the Pufferbelly and Salomon Farm trails in Fort Wayne. Local sponsors, county leaders, and artist Julie Wall gathered Monday to celebrate the restored artwork, one of 15 pieces honoring Allen County’s 200th birthday and adding fresh interest to a popular recreation area.

General Decree Establishing the Seventh Edition of the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services as Particular Law in the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend (todayscatholic.org) — Catholic health care providers in the Diocese of Fort Wayne–South Bend now must follow the newly adopted Seventh Edition of the Ethical and Religious Directives. Bishop Kevin Rhoades’ decree, issued from Fort Wayne, makes these rules binding on all diocesan Catholic health institutions starting December 15, potentially shaping policies patients encounter locally.
   

4. Latest Standings Announced for the 2025 BroadwayWorld Fort Wayne Awards; LEGALLY BLONDE Leads Best Musical! (broadwayworld.com) — Fort Wayne–area theater fans can now see who’s leading the 2025 BroadwayWorld Fort Wayne Awards, with “Legally Blonde” currently topping the Best Musical race. The standings highlight local favorites like Fort Wayne Civic Theatre, Purdue Fort Wayne, and Three Rivers Music Theatre, and voting continues ahead of winners being announced in January.
   

5. The process of painting Santa Claus (wane.com) — In Fort Wayne, local artist Mike Gouloff has quietly created more than 100 Santa paintings over 12 years, giving them away to spread holiday cheer. He walked WANE 15 through his detailed process, from sketching Santa’s expressive eyes to adding the final white highlights, describing each piece as a message about belief, relationships, and human kindness.
