$20.07 per hour (probation) with full benefits (shift work)Increases after 6 months of service to $21.07 per hourIncreases after 12 months of service to $22.14 per hour

Job Requirements:

• Must currently possess or willing to obtain Indiana Wastewater Operator License
• Some computer knowledge required
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable

Job Responsibilities:

• Must be able to operate and perform routine maintenance for all pumps and electrical generator located in the building
• Make operating decisions in absence of the supervisor
• Maintain shift log and record meter/gauge readings as instituted by supervisors/management
• Will be required to collect samples
• Must perform general custodial duties, maintain a safe and tidy workplace
• Flexibility within schedule in order to cover rain call, as needed
• Must maintain cooperative relationship with those in contact during course of work
• Must maintain attendance record with few or no absences or tardiness
• Must be willing to possibly work different shifts and varying days off within any given work week (Saturday-Friday)
• Performs related duties as required

Hiring will be done in accordance with Hammond City Ordinance #8620 as it pertains to the residency requirement.Position will be posted internally only from February 3, 2022 thru February 9, 2022. If the position is not filled internally, it will be held open for external applications an additional ten (10) days. The position will remain posted until filled or no more than ten days.
