• Man Found With Drugs In A Hidden Box Under Car (regionnewssource.org) — Police say a driver was stopped on Hohman Avenue in Hammond and later arrested after officers reported finding a magnetic box under his car containing a substance that tested positive for heroin. The man, who allegedly lacked a valid driver’s license and used a fictitious Georgia plate, now faces felony drug and misdemeanor driving charges filed in Lake County.
   

• Hounds Fall in Double Overtime to Purdue Northwest (uindy.edu) — A double-overtime women’s basketball showdown in Hammond saw Purdue Northwest edge the UIndy Greyhounds 84–77 after 20 ties and 16 lead changes. Despite standout scoring from Autumn Rucker and Patricia Chikamba, a late Pride run in the second overtime sealed the result as UIndy now looks ahead to two home games next week.
