Job Requirements:

• Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds
• Able to understand and follow oral and written instructions
• Must be able to use hand and power tools
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable
• Subject to 24-hour call-out for emergencies
• Must maintain cooperative relationship with those in contact with during the course of work

Job Duties:

• Assists Mechanics in their various daily job duties
• Train with Mechanics in order to develop understanding of the maintenance of HSD’s equipment
• Must be able to show continuous growth in mechanical ability
• Must keep positive attitude during learning process
• Assisting Laborers as needed
• Any other maintenance task assigned by Superintendent of Maintenance or Superintendent of Operations
• Must maintain attendance record with few or no absences or tardiness
• Performs related duties as required

Hiring will be done in accordance with Hammond City Ordinance #8620 as it pertains to the residency requirement.Position will be posted internally from February 3, 2022 thru February 9, 2022. If the position is not filled internally it will be held open for external applications an additional ten (10) days. The position will remain posted until filled or no more than 10 days.
