Hobart is a place like no other. And whether you grew up here, recently moved to the area or you’re just an occasional visitor, you know that Hobart has its own special traditions and history that make it so unique.

A few things to know:

  • If you're interested in history, don't miss the chance to visit the Hobart Historical Museum. It's filled with fascinating artifacts and exhibits that tell the story of the city's past.
  • Hobart is home to beautiful Lake George, which offers plenty of outdoor recreational activities, including fishing, boating and hiking. It's the perfect place to spend a sunny afternoon with family and friends.
  • If you're looking for a unique and quirky experience, check out the annual Pierogi Fest just outside of Hobart. This celebration of Eastern European cuisine is one of the largest food festivals in the Midwest, and features live music, crafts and of course, plenty of pierogis to sample!
  • The Hobart Art Theatre is a historic movie theater that's been around since the 1920s. It's now a nonprofit organization that shows independent and foreign films, as well as classics from Hollywood's golden age.
  • Did you know that Hobart is only a short drive away from the Indiana Dunes National Park? With miles of sandy beaches, rolling dunes and beautiful views of Lake Michigan, it's the perfect destination for a day trip or weekend getaway.
