• Being For Other announces 16 more grants, celebrates successful first year of grantmaking (duboiscountyfreepress.com) — A new grant will support the Kids Hope mentoring program at Huntingburg Elementary School, offering one-on-one support for at-risk students. That award is part of 16 grants from the Being for Others Health and Wellness Foundation, which invested more than $650,000 this year in health, food access, mental health, and recovery projects across Dubois County and seven neighboring counties.
   

• Karen Sue Tierney, 79, Dale (duboiscountyfreepress.com) — Family and friends in Huntingburg and Dale are mourning the passing of 79-year-old Karen Sue Tierney, who will be laid to rest in Fairmount Cemetery in Huntingburg. She leaves children, including one in Huntingburg, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her family suggests memorial donations to the Dubois County Humane Society or the animal shelter in Huntingburg.
