Mike Braun to chair the powerful Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission, meaning he’ll resign his Senate seat on Jan. 8, 2026. His move shifts Huntington’s representation at the Statehouse and puts a local voice at the center of decisions on electric and natural gas rates statewide. 
• DNR releases latest best available flood data update for nine counties (wbiw.com) — Huntington County residents should know that Little Majenica Creek is part of the state’s latest floodplain data update, which can affect building plans and risk awareness. The DNR’s revised “Best Available Flood Data” for nine counties is now online, giving local officials, engineers, and property owners more precise tools for planning and permitting.
