• Fifteen Indiana Hospitals Earned Top Marks For Patient Safety (wrkr.com) — Norton King’s Daughters’ Health in Madison has earned an “A” grade for patient safety, placing it among just 15 Indiana hospitals recognized by the Leapfrog Group this fall. The report highlights strong performance in preventing errors, surgical safety, and staffing, giving local patients added reassurance when choosing where to receive care.
   

• Indiana program for incarcerated youth expands internationally (iu.edu) — A long-running Indiana University mentoring program for incarcerated youth first took shape at the former girls’ juvenile correction facility in Madison and has since expanded across the state and into Mexico. HOPE pairs college mentors with young people to build job skills, confidence, and long-term support that research suggests can reduce re-offending, with Indiana’s Department of Correction helping fund the effort.
