(bentonreview.com) — If you’re thinking about running for office in Oxford, filing for the 2026 primary opens January 7, 2026, with a February 6 deadline. Oxford voters will choose a town clerk and three town board members, along with key county and school board seats across Benton County. Candidate packets are available at the Benton County clerk’s office.

• Janet Lee (Farrell) Christopher (bentonreview.com) — Oxford native Janet Lee (Farrell) Christopher, who once worked at Oxford Drug and married in Oxford in 1957, has passed away at age 88. She later lived in Peru, raised three children, worked as a teacher’s aide, and stayed active with travel, friends, and community life. A memorial service was held December 17 at McClain Funeral Home in Denver, Indiana.
