• LOFS fire service wants 2026 budget increase (chicagotribune.com) — Porter County officials and Lakes of the Four Seasons residents are clashing over a 2026 funding shortfall for the volunteer fire and EMS service that covers the Porter County side of the community. With worries about longer ambulance response times if Northwest Health takes over, residents are being urged to pack Thursday’s Porter County Administration Building meeting as commissioners discuss what funding options are actually possible.
