PBS Michiana receives a grant 700 thousand dollars 2026 (wsbt.com) — South Bend’s PBS Michiana/WNIT just secured a $694,000 Public Media Bridge Fund grant, covering about half its annual budget after state and federal cuts in July. The money will help keep local staff employed and South Bend-focused programming on the air, while leaders urge residents to keep supporting the station by watching and donating.
   

2. South Bend, Ancora, Notre Dame collaborate (michianabusinessnews.com) — South Bend’s Redevelopment Commission is backing a major new downtown research and innovation hub called Colfax Corner, anchored in the restored South Bend Tribune building and a new office facility. Heartland Small Animal has Great Dane mix Landon ready for adoption (southbendtribune.com) — If you’re looking to adopt locally, Heartland Small Animal Rescue in South Bend has Landon, a gentle 4-year-old Great Dane–Rhodesian ridgeback mix who loves kids, dogs, car rides and couch time.
