Leisure Services Supervisor - Salary - $36,748 (position open until filled)

The Leisure Services Program Leader for the St. Joseph County Parks & Recreation Department works in a team environment to plan and provide quality leisure programs such as but not limited to; disc golf, canoeing/kayaking, fishing, innertubing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and hayrides within the parks.

Shifts vary, expect extensive nights and weekends. During peak seasons work days will be Wednesday through Sunday.

Report to Leisure Services Manager

Essential Functions:

Develops, coordinates, and works as a hands-on supervisor for all leisure services activities; disc golf, winter sports (innertubing, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing), canoe/kayak rentals, and fall hayrides

Develops and implements seasonal public programs that connect nature and health. Examples: fishing, arts/crafts, archery, and outdoor fitness.

Baccalaureate Degree in Parks & Recreation, Environmental Education, Therapeutic Recreation, Elementary Education, or related field. Equivalent job experience will also be considered.
