1. Celebrating 75 years of LOGAN helping the South Bend community (southbendtribune.com) — LOGAN Community Resources is marking 75 years of serving people with disabilities in the South Bend area, now supporting 1,600 clients and employing 600 staff in St. Joseph County. The piece also highlights Indiana University South Bend professor Elizabeth Bennion, recently honored by the League of Women Voters of the South Bend Area for her work strengthening local civic engagement and democracy.
   

2. Firefighters battle two blazes in freezing conditions across Saint Joseph County (wsbt.com) — Fire crews from across St. Joseph County battled two Saturday night structure fires, including a house blaze just northwest of South Bend International Airport, all in brutal freezing conditions. Tankers had to haul in water for a Lakeville barn fire, but firefighters brought both incidents under control with no injuries reported.
   

3. Jewish Federation mourns Sydney tragedy during South Bend Chanukah ceremony (wsbt.com) — A Chanukah menorah lighting in downtown South Bend doubled as a vigil, with the Jewish Federation of St. Joseph Valley mourning victims of the antisemitic attack in Sydney. Community members gathered inside the Morris Performing Arts Center, then braved the cold to light the giant Chanukiah, supported by a visible South Bend Police security presence.
   

4. Paul Wiggin, College Football Hall of Famer and former coach, dies at 91 (clickondetroit.com) — College football great Paul Wiggin, a Hall of Famer and longtime NFL player and coach, has died at 91. South Bend is briefly mentioned as the site where he was enshrined into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2006. Wiggin’s career spanned standout years at Stanford, an NFL title with the Browns, and decades of coaching and front-office work.
